Offa Community Hosts Members Of The Governing Council Of Summit University, Offa

Members of the Governing Council of Summit University, Offa led by its Chairman, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti (FCA) has paid a two-day working visit to the ancient Offa town where the University is located. At Offa, the Chairman of the Governing Council with some members worshipped at the Offa Central Mosque on Friday, July 9, 2021 of their visit to Offa together with His Royal Highness, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Mohammed Gbadamosi, Esuwoye II. The Governing Council members arrived at the Offa Local Government Secretariat, where they were received by the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Thomas Jare Olatundun ably represented by the Vice-Chairman, Alhaja Aishat Raji.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti (FCA) thanked the Council boss and the people of the Council area for their moral and sundry supports to the University at all times. Alhaji Adisa Rafiu Ebiti (FCA), however solicited for more of such supports to enable the University realise its vision of establishing the University in Offa. The Chairman expressed his delight at receiving the members which he described as first of its kind since the inception of the University. Hon. Thomas Jare Olatundun then pledged the continued support of the Council area to the University which he described as the pride of the ancient town. The second day saw the Council members visiting the Olofa in Council with other eminent personalities of Offa including the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Offa, Prof. H.O.B. Oloyede.

The Chairman Governing Council, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti (FCA) expressed gratitude to the monarch and the entire Offa people for their tremendous assistance to the University in all ramifications. He also thanked the Olofa for according the members a warm reception despite the short-notice. Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti (FCA) however, requested the Kabiyesi and the people of Offa to sustain their assistance to the University. The Olofa commended the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, for establishing the University at Offa and pledged to maintain the cordial relationship that exists between the town and the University. As a demonstration of his pledge, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Mohammed Gbadamosi Esuwoye II presented a cheque of twenty million naira (N20,000,000.00) to the Chairman. An elated Chairman of Council equally presented the Olofa a gift in furtherance to the working synergy between the University and the town. The Governing Council members also visited Professor M.O. Oyawoye where they were warmly received by the nonagerian Professor and the Aremo of Offa. The visit also took the team to late Alhaji Tiamiyu Adebisi Olatinwo’s family house, along Taiwo Road, Offa, where they were joyfully received by the wives of the late Alhaji Olatinwo and some of his children. Alhaji Tajudeen Olatinwo received members to the family house and thanked them for the historic visit. Other members of the Council who accompanied the Chairman during the working visit include: Prof. H.O.B. Oloyede, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nurain Tanimowo, Dr. Ganiyu Owolabi, Alhaji Isiaka Adesina Kareem and Alhaji Suleiman Moshood Adebayo respectively.
