Application Fee

The application fee for UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination), Direct Entry (DE), and Transfer applicants is waived. However, applicants in other categories are expected to pay the application fee.

General Admission Requirement for University Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates

  1. 5 credits requirement in SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or approved equivalent in at least 5 subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects as may be specified by each Department/Programme. (5 credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings).
  2. All UTME candidates are required to obtain the minimum cut-off mark for the admission year. The Cut-off mark for 2022/2023 admission exercise is 140.
  3. Make sure to choose Summit University, Offa as their first choice or change their first choice institution to Summit University, Offa on JAMB portal.
  4. Visit www.summituniversity.edu.ng to pay Processing Fee and fill Online Application Form before the Screening exercise. (See Payment Schedule below)
  5. Go through the Summit University’s Post UTME Screening Exercise. (See Payment Schedule below)
  6. Post UTME Screening on candidates is done on daily basis
  7. Visit the University with copies of the following documents and writing materials for Post UTME Screening:
    • O’ Level Result (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) to be Used for Admission JAMB Notification of Result/Print-out
    • JAMB Change of Institution Form
    • Confirmation of Application on Summit University, Offa Portal
    • Photocopy of Birth Certificate or Statutory declaration of Age
    • Scratch Card for verification of O’ Level Results
    • Five Recent Passport photographs

General Admission for Direct Entry Candidates

  1. Credits at SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or approved equivalent in at least 5 subjects which must include English Language and Mathematics and any other three subjects as may be specified by each Department/Programme
  2. Plus any of the following:
    • OND or approved equivalents in relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit
    • A minimum of two Passes in relevant subjects in recognised Advanced Level Subjects. Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) and Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) or equivalents are accepted.
  3. Satisfactory performance at Screening interview conducted by the University.
  4. You are to come to the University with copies of the following documents and writing materials for Post UTME Screening:
    • O’ Level Result (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) to be Used for Admission JAMB DE Registration Form
    • JAMB Change of Institution Form
    • Confirmation of Application on Summit University, Offa Portal
    • Photocopy of Birth Certificate or Statutory declaration of Age
    • Scratch Card for verification of O’ Level Results
    • Five Recent Passport photographs

Postgraduate Studies Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme

All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level and any of:

  1. First degree with a minimum of Third-Class grade in any discipline from a recognized university.
  2. First degree with a minimum of Second class lower in any related discipline from a recognized university.
  3. HND with at least a minimum grade of Lower Credit in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Master of Science Programme

All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level. Kindly note that:

  1. Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees from an approved university must obtain a minimum of second-class lower division.
  2. Candidates with a university PGD with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0 in any related discipline may be considered for admission into academic Master’s degree programmes.
Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Programme

All candidates for MPhil admission must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level.
  2. Candidates must have an Academic Master’s degree in relevant areas with a minimum CGPA of 2.5/5.0 and a thesis score not lower than 50%.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme

All candidates for PhD admission must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. All candidates must have five credit passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level.
  2. Candidates must have an Academic Master’s degree in relevant areas with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/5.0 and a thesis score not lower than 55% or MPhil degree in the relevant area.
