Ibrahim Akinola SALAWU is a researcher, lecturer, host, and resource facilitator. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in political science and Public Administration from Fountain University Osogbo, Nigeria where he finished as one of the best graduating students in the department. He further obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he is currently a Doctoral Candidate. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Summit University Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria and currently coordinates the affairs of the department. His research areas include Gender and minority studies, Democracy, and elections in African politics. He adopts a participatory and innovative approach to classroom activities. He has attended, presented research papers at both national and international academic conferences, and published research papers at both local and international outlets. His most recent research articles have appeared in the Journal of Asian and African Studies, SAGE publishers and Cambridge Publishers, United Kingdom.
Aside his academic responsibilities, he has also been saddled with several administrative responsibilities and member of various committees at department, college, and university levels. This has earned him several commendations and recommendations by the Vice-Chancellor. With a thirst for knowledge beyond boundaries and disciplines, he also joined the Innovation and Advance Science Research Group at Summit University Offa and was an active member of the university’s award-winning grant proposal funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAENG), United Kingdom on “Artificial Intelligence for females in STEM” worth about 100,000 Great Britain Pounds. He has also led and written several other grant proposals to several national and international funding agencies.
